Meet Mary

Mary, Owner

Growing up in Loudoun County, Mary spent a good part of her childhood taking horseback riding lessons and working on farms for fun. In high school she moved on from stable work to pet sitting where she learned the many different lifestyles that pets can lead. Throughout her college career she worked at a therapeutic horseback riding facility as an Assistant Instructor and Director’s Assistant.  Her passion for animals was so strong that she immediately jumped in to Veterinary Technician School after receiving her B.A. in English. With two years of school under her belt and a novel size list of experience, she began her journey to learn first-hand all she could in the animal industry. The list of different industries is vast: dog daycare, animal boarding, veterinary technician work in several hospitals, shelter work, pet-sitting, training, dog grooming and community outreach education programs. Through her experience over the years, Mary found that many businesses that claim to be pet friendly and loving were only referring to those pets that loved back easily. The fearful dogs, anxious dogs and full on aggressive dogs had no welcoming space to go without being judged (her dog included). With this realization it was time to do the only thing that made sense: open a business that offered a welcoming environment to all. Pawsh Dog Wash was born.

Meet Austin

Austin, Manager

Austin is the Manager of Pawsh Dog Wash. When Mary is gone, Austin is your guy! Born and raised in New Jersey, Austin came to Northern Virginia with his wife to pursue careers in music education. Austin’s real passion and love is in the animal industry and so he left music to get back to his roots in grooming. There isn’t a dog out there that Austin doesn’t love to work with and he is out to learn every breed there is and their grooming needs. Being a cat dad of two awesome kitties, it’s nice to get his dog fix at Pawsh.

Meet Sy

Sy, Pawsh Pal

Sy is a native of Annandale, Virginia owner of Chester the rescue boxer mix. As an avid dog lover, Sy has worked with many types of dogs in a pet sitting and daycare environment. Pawsh is the perfect place to work and you can always see their art on our windows during the holidays. You can also check out some of Sy’s artwork on sale in our shop.

Meet Perri

Perri, Pawsh Pal

Perri is a DC native that has been working and bathing dogs for almost 8 years. Out of all the breeds she has worked with over the years, Pit Bulls are still her all time favorite breed. In her free time, Perri enjoys swimming and listening to all genres of music. You can normally find her giving your pup a deep shampoo massage while using soothing words of encouragement during the bath process.

Meet Gray

Gray, Pawsh Pal

Gray is born and raised in Arlington, VA. She is part of our team on the weekends as her full-time job is teaching children in the Arlington school system. Gray’s love of animals and desire to continue learning and growing led her to Pawsh where she has integrated her knowledge of working with children into working with the pups within the shop. In her free time, Gray enjoys painting and drawing (you may have seen some of her murals in local Northern Virginia Businesses!). If she had to pick a favorite dog she would choose Cockapoos.

Meet Leti

Leti, Groomer

Leti is a Woodbridge resident that has been grooming in the DMV for over 20 years. When it comes to some of our more reactive and grooming sensitive dogs, she has a special touch. One of her favorite breeds is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, but she loves grooming the smaller breeds like Shih Tzu’s and Yorkshire Terriers. If you’re looking for a speedy groom, she is your groomer. Her years of experience has made her one of our fastest groomers- but book quickly! Leti is only in our shop on Sunday’s as the rest of her time is dedicated to her three children.

Meet Tanya

Tanya, Groomer

Tanya is a Maryland native that has been grooming for over 15 years. She is definitely one of our most lighthearted groomers (if her dancing down the street is any sign). Tanya is a diverse groomer in her ability to sweet talk a fearful dog to giving a stern hand to more stubborn/difficult dogs. Small dogs are by far her favorite, but she does enjoy from time to time the satisfaction of the occasional fluffing of a large curly coated dog. If you are looking for good scissor work or a groomer that can mold themselves to your dogs energy, Tanya is your groomer!

Meet Monica

Monica, Groomer

Monica is a DC native that has been grooming for a little over 8 years. As a single mother of two, she passes on her love of animals to her boys. Over the years of grooming, she has become quite fond of grooming Yorkie’s and Shih Tzu’s the most but welcomes and loves all dogs that cross her table. She has a stern motherly tone when needed for some of our pups that need a bit more firm hand and then the equally gentle motherly touch for our pups that are a bit more fearful of the process. On her days off, she enjoys taking her boys to the park and having quality family time.

Meet Tee

Tee, Groomer

Tee is a Maryland native that has been grooming for over 13 years. She is best known for her scissor work and ability to work with more difficult dogs that require a more stern hand. Tee is also known for her amazing nails. We don’t know how she grooms as well as she does with her nails, but she pulls it off like a pro. When she’s not grooming, Tee is spending time with her two children and husband. Her favorite breed to groom is a Shih Tzu. If you’re looking for a stern hand, calm energy and fine scissor work, Tee is the groomer for you!

Meet Marina

Marina, Groomer

Marina is originally born and raised in Russia where she lived her whole life until recently. Moving to America has had a learning curve for her as she learns English, but her passion for animals and grooming needs no translation. Having learned and practiced grooming in Russia, she has had to become more familiar with our doodles over here in America, but has picked up grooming skills needed to cater to more breeds than what she experienced in Russia. Scissor work and breed cuts are her specialty and while she is trained more with small dogs, she has made her way in becoming more comfortable with larger dogs in our shop. On her days off she enjoys spending time with her two grandchildren and exploring the DC area.
